theme park review
|
| |
Orlando isn't just home to parks with massive rides, it's also home to parks with massive marine mammals, and Sea World along with Discovery Cove is where you want to be heading for all things fishy.
Sea World is an entertaining, educational, interesting and awe-inspiring park, which lets you see all sorts of sea dwelling creatures up close and personal. It's part theme park, part zoo, part theatre, fully enjoyable.
Entering the park you quickly noticed a chilled out vibe, which sets you in the mood for the rest of your day. My advice to you here is grab a map and a selection of show times and plans your day while looking at the massive turtles or beautiful dolphins. The great thing about Sea World is that it's not just animals, you learn about them, you interact with them and you get to feed them. Go on and visit the Dolphins in the wonderfully sculptured Dolphin Cove where you can stroke and feed the cutest animal in the sea. You can easily spend an hour or two standing here, mesmerised by the dolphins, but there is so much more to do.
One of the great things about Sea World is that, if time is at a premium you can easily spend half a day here, doing a whistle stop tour, but if you're lucky enjoy to be able to enjoy a full day in the park, then you'll get to experience everything, and not miss out on any of the fantastic shows, sights and sounds.
There are plenty of shows where you can see some of the amazing behaviours (tricks to us!) that these animals can do, each in their own comfortable theatre or stadium, each different but each wonderful in it's own way. The Dolphin show was beautiful, and much like Believe the new show featuring Shamu, it brought a tear to my eye. The swelling music, the beautiful animals and the indescribable choreography combine to create shows which you'll remember for years to come.
Believe, the new show starring Shamu the killer whale is just phenomenal, seeing this was one of the highlights of my trip. It's something everyone of all ages will be affected by, the majestic beauty of these creatures combined with a professionally slick production that will have you gasping with wonder.
Thrill seekers listen up, ok perhaps seeing all these creatures isn't enough for you, maybe standing a few inches away from a shark swimming beside you doesn't scare you enough, (ok the glass separates you, but you get the idea) maybe you just need something to get your adrenaline pumping… well fear not, Sea World's got it covered through their B&M Floorless rollercoaster Kraken, and their water adventure, Journey To Atlantis.
Journey is a showpiece attraction that combines show scenes, a high speed drop, and surprises into one of the most original attractions I've ever been on. Kraken will give you all the G-Forces you need as it sends you on twists and turns high above the lake, leaving you wanting more as you pull into the station.
Sea World will bring a smile to the face of any visitor, it's a delightful day out filled with joy and hope, it's a beautiful park with wonderful landscaping and will present to you shows, that you'll never see anywhere else.
