Run by Bristol City Council, Colston Hall is Bristol's largest concert hall, with a capacity of 1840 - 2075 (seated) and 1938 standing. A multi-million pound redevelopment scheme is now underway. Set to transform Colston Hall over the coming years into an international centre for music and performance, the scheme will provide new rehearsal and recording facilities, education and workshop spaces, a new foyer and box office, greatly improved disabled access, new bars and restaurants, meeting and conference facilities and a refurbished auditorium. Work will begin in 2004. As part of the redevelopment of Colston Hall we have and will continue to extend our programme to increase jazz, world and new music and have introduced a programme of education and outreach work.
