Cedar Point is like no British Theme Park; in fact it’s like no other Theme Park anywhere. It’s so spacious, yet so full. Home to 14 rollercoaster's including the 310-foot-tall, 93-mph Millennium Force "giga-coaster" and hundreds of other rides, you might expect the park to be crowded with rides, the truth is it’s not. It’s a huge park, a massive space of land with lots of room for new rides! The amount of walking which has to be done would suffice for a Marathon Runner but it’s worth it for the rides! The amount of space makes you visit extremely relaxing, you don’t feel like you have to rush, and you can enjoy the surroundings. A complaint however is that the surroundings are in some areas non-existent! Themeing is not in place, and trees some times are missing, but other areas are fines, especially a walk from the entrance of Millennium Force, through a dense forest. The rides make Cedar Point, you can forget about the lack of themeing, and enjoy the experience of a lifetime on some of those rides.

Millennium Force

This is THE coaster of the Millennium, looming over the park at 310 foot tall this ride reaches speeds of 93mph, whilst dropping at 80° and encountering massively over-banked turns. The long wait will peruse this ride throughout the day, so the top tip here is get to the park early, and go straight to this ride if you are lucky you won’t wait longer than 1 hour, later in the day the queues can get up to 4 hours! The problem lies in not that it’s not worth the line, because it certainly is, the main problem is the lack of queue theming. Large areas on lines going back and forth are not fun! However there is normally some entertainment such as DJ’s in the queue helping to make the time pass…..once it does pass you’ll know about it.

You board the long trains, with stadium style seating, so you get that brilliant front row view in all rows. You then begin your climb up all the 310-foot, which is shockingly fast due to a cable lift hill. Before you know it your on top of the world, looking down at the ground and picking up immense speed. Hurtling towards the ground the drop lasts forever, then your picked up and hurtle into the massively over-banked turn, almost going completely upside down. You continue your journey of speed round bends, over hills, through tunnels, all being so smooth you forget your going 93mph. Well actually I lie you know your going that fast, you see the world blur past you, your eyes have tears streaming out of them, and you get hours worth of airtime on each hill. Before you have a chance to take in a breath you reach the breaks, and can contemplate the ride you’ve just done. It seems like hours of your life, full, fun packed hours on a ride, which make others seem like a merry-go-round. This ride puts others to shame, it is perfect in every possible aspect, Millennium Force will send you full force and flying through excitement, speed and thrills. It’s what we’ve been waiting for the past 2000 years.

Raptor

One mean bird of prey. The glossy green monumental area of track can be seen from the drive up to the park, and can be heard from a walk through the entrance. A stunningly smooth inverted coaster, which allows you to “kick the sky!”

With 6 inversions, and stupendous amounts of speed, Raptor is intense, but enjoyably insane. The unique thrill of flying over people who are watching you, adds masses to the ride, it’s layout provides a view of the whole inverted tangled track, and allows you to see the graceful train entering each element.

Take a flight on Raptor, this bird won’t disappoint.

Mean Streak

A classic wooden coaster, built in 1991 it is still mean. Set right at the back of the park, the coaster holds a magical presence. Whichever angel you see it from you can’t help but be amazed from the beauty of the wood. The completely wooden structure causes your train the slip round the track, bumping, swaying and giving you that elusive out of control feel. The rides live up to all expectations, which you might get from, catch sight of it. A non-stop journey, hurtling round the track, over the hills and round the bends can cause a small amount of pain from the roughness, but not enough to stop you coming off this long coaster buzzing with excitement and singing its praises. It’s not that mean to you, in fact it’s rather pleasant. An astonishing wooden adventure.

The Shows

Cedar Point doesn’t just hold spectacular rides, but also a vast collection of outstanding shows, which cater for all tastes. From toe-tapping music and song, to high action thrilling diving you’ll laugh and clap at the skills of the multi-talented casts. One of the most enjoyable shows is the Extreme Team Diving Show, gorgeously set with the backdrop of Lake Erie and the beach in the distance. The comic capers, mixed with specially designed dives will leave you wanting to get swimming and diving. Beside the shows and coaster’s Cedar Point also features some other notable rides. Power Tower is a tower which will give you a view like no other over the park and Lake Erie, but you won’t see it for long because your either rocketing up the 200+foot tower in under 2 seconds, or dropping down it!

A park this size employees hundreds of staff, all of which are thoroughly pleasant, and talkative. Each member we encountered seemed willing to help make your day better, and this just adds another aspect to your great day out. Whilst in Ohio, we also visited Six Flags World Of Adventure, where the staff made you feels like a burden, getting them to work. They were awful and rude, it is so pleasant to see people enjoying their job and enjoying helping you at Cedar Point.

The park has a massive collection of rides, attractions, shows and shops yet you never feel like everything has been stuck together; you get a very spacious feel due to the sheer size of the place. This does mean unfortunately stacks of walking, so comfy shoes are a must.
Cedar Point holds different levels of excitement for everyone, however the teenage and adult market will be a sole beneficiary of their day out. This doesn’t mean the kids are left out, oh no the kids can get their kicks on the numerous kiddies rides, smaller coasters, and Camp Snoopy, their own area. No family would have someone who will not enjoy their visit in their party. The parent-swap scheme allows the younger children to be left with an adult while the others ride, then after the others are back, that adult can enjoy the ride, line free.

Cedar Point is a destination like no other. 2 days must be spent in this park to allow you to enjoy everything, from the largest of rides to the smallest of shows. You should also add another day, and visit Soak City, the on-site water park. Cooling you down, whilst keeping up the thrills. Cedar Point is simply out of this world, I’ve never experience such a park, with so many rides, so much enjoyment and such a friendly and fun atmosphere!
