Reviewer: Jonny Taylor

Thinking about going to this performance got me particularly excited as I have seen the ‘Three Degrees’ in Newport years ago I was gagging to hear Sheila Ferguson‘s voice again. I was not to be disappointed.

Having found our seats, we absorbed the atmosphere; cool, calm?  No, very very expectant.

These eager punters were not to be disappointed as the first few songs rocked the house to its foundations with lively tunes such as Soul man.

After an elongated intro, a lot of ballads showing the true musical prowess that is needed to play the blues and soul. The performers having gone for a concert rather than musical feel to the evening.

The only upsetting part of the evening was the audiences fault:

The close of act one came and the artists were greeted properly by the crowd -  a typical Bristol welcome, but no well deserved dancing in the isles. The Bristol folk are well known for not showing their Emotions.

Luckily though, the audience realized what an amazing act they were witnessing and the performance stunned all who I spoke to. One said to me that it was what they needed ‘to rekindle their love for life’.

Choreography was something to be held still and framed in a gallery not like more recent bands who learn one step and repeat, this was a true show to remember.

An Amazingly Brilliant Night Out
