Note from Dave Gorman Himself: : I'm currently touring with three separate stage shows and I always make sure that venues understand that they don't advertise the show as just "Dave Gorman" which suggests regular stand-up and not the kind of concept shows (horrible phrase - sorry) I do. So they always have to advertise the particular show - that way people know if they've seen it before or not.  So this is a review of Dave Gorman - Reasons To Be Cheerful!

Indisputably the funniest man in the world the double BAFTA award winning Dave Gorman invites you for an uplifting hour of non-stop hysterical pleasure with an impressive collection of facial hair, marbles and over twenty thousand second-hand slides. Taking an alternate approach from the conventional joke based stand-up, Dave, one of the UK’s most talented comedians, has ingeniously created his own distinctive genre of one-man show.  

‘Reasons To Be Cheerful’ is completely based upon the 1979 chart hit by Ian Dury & the Blockheads and with the assistance of an overhead projector and an assortment of comical props Dave sets about demonstrating, though intensive research, why each lyric of the song is a recognized reason to be cheerful, which leads to hilarious discoveries such as the animal the city center of Manchester is shaped like and the transportation trouble his parents had with an inflatable dinghy!  

The performance finished with the audience in fits of laughter, the concrete confirmation that Dave’s pub bet, from which the show is a result of, is well and truly accomplished, it also left me with a vision I will never forget, a picture of a small dog sat on a car jack!!  

Pack a spare pair of undies and prepare to be reduced to a dribbling hysterical wreck.
