Coming 2004, Cirque Du Soleil Present Dralion

“Quidam” (Key-Dem) a nameless passer-by, a solitary figure lingering on a street corner, a person rushing past, a person who lives lost amidst the crowd in an all too anonymous society. So begins Cirque Du Soleil’s stunning production.

The company have been pitching up in England for over five years, and now London plays host to the final date in the Quidam European tour, which began in 1998. Presented in the elegant splendor and contrasting intimacy of its touring big top, the Grande Chapiteau. Quidam really is a show so extraordinary it does make the impossible come true. Having been seen by over 4 million people worldwide, now it is your chance to enter and enjoy the magic.

This show quite frankly left me speechless after, and gasping, wowing, and spontaneously applauding throughout. The 2 and a half hour show whizzes by immersing you in magic, excitement and unadulterated joy.

“It is a show which turns gravity on its head. From an overhead conveyor 120’ in length, artists, sets, props and effects drift, dive, plummet, slip, slide, glide and swing into view.” aerialhoops.jpg (14076 bytes)

This is obviously a circus, but even more obviously a totally original and inspiring circus like no other. There is not just a selection of acts in a tacky big top; this is a classy venue, better than any London Theatre. The main difference is there is a story here, loosely explaining the tale of a young girl and the fantasy that can live within a child. That fantasy also lives in you and is brought to life, in an epic journey of your imagination throughout. You mind flies and boggles as the cast soar towards the stage on the stunningly simply but marvellous set. Moving in and out, spinning on the revolving stage in utterly imaginative costume and with beautiful and contrasting lighting.banquine.jpg (18061 bytes)

The cast all play their part throughout, each person moves with a reason and a style, they are perfectly chorographer by Debra Brown and really provide the audience moments to love and remember for a lifetime. The Franco Dragone direction is awe-inspiring and thoroughly conveys the story and feelings, along with the imagery on stage.

The huge cast of 52 performers from 10 different countries each have a personal talent that was graciously received by a standing ovation, and spontadiabolos.jpg (10992 bytes)neous applause throughout. Laughs, Ballet, Opera, and Strength were shown at different stages during the show, each being perfectly timed, presented and received. The live band and singers set the show to a dramatic backdrop of haunting music which radiantly absorbs the show, and works so well with each piece.skippingropes.jpg (15925 bytes)

There are not enough good words for this show, there is not once a dull moment, but plenty full of love, excitement and joy. You will leave raving about this show, so get there now. Buy your tickets - don’t miss out on this feast for the eyes, ears and soul. Wheel.jpg (11477 bytes)

The acts, which preside over the show, are all presented in an imaginative and thought provoking format. The most memorable moments involve Diablo’s being thrown around like you could ever imagine, swinging and dropping from hanging pieces of rope, spinning on a 6 foot diameter wheel and my favourite throwing men and women across the stage and catching them again, which showed unparalleled strength.

Simply Stunning, Brilliantly Magical, Cirque Du Soleil has something no one else will ever have. There is no way that you will not 100% enjoy and marvel at this show.
