streetsgroupsm.jpg (18445 bytes)Well what can I say? I am truly gob-smacked by the performance I have just seen; Circus Of The Streets is well and truly astounding.

warrior princessess doubles.jpg (27658 bytes)From the moment you enter the theatre-style Big Top you can tell this isn’t your ordinary circus, oh no! The scaffolding, graffiti set and large lighting rigs make you think this is something different, but the classic Circus Ring still lets you know this is a Circus, it is a traditional Circus just re-invented and revitalised for the new century, and it’s a job that’s worked.

rockets2sm.jpg (9533 bytes)This is going to be amazing I hear a child utter as the lights go down, he didn’t lie! From the opening you can see that you’re in for a real treat, the cast show so much energy and enthusiasm throughout the show and the talent doesn’t ever cease to amaze you. The tension building opening gives you a small glimpse of what to come, showing every artist. A large bang of fireworks signals the start of the show and the acts come pouring on one by one, each astounding it is own personal way performed by the large cast from right across Europe.

heidi1sm.jpg (14403 bytes)The audience’s spirits were lifted throughout the performance by the sheer delight of seeing performers doing what they do best, performing and enjoying it. With acts being thrown at you, all set to a foot-tapping soundtrack of modern music and an extravagant light display you won’t find a single dull moment.

davaa1sm.jpg (8778 bytes)A clown that is funny, hard to believe but honestly true! The Streets Clown fully interacts with the audience and gets everyone laughing in hysterics. The death-defying stunts of chainsaw juggling, trapeze-ing and hanging off bits of silk 20 foot up in the air are stunts to behold. The modern skateboarding, bmxing and bungee-jumping acts are “wicked” and “make this circus cool” said one 16 year old who was grudgingly brought along by his family. He thought it was going to be boring but loved every birkine3sm.jpg (13812 bytes)minute, just like his younger sister and older parents each were raving about this show! Earlier on however they were “oh-my-godding” when the contortionist managed to fit his whole body into one small box, don’t close you eyes and be squeamish, just sit and be amazed.

birkine2sm.jpg (14711 bytes)All ages will enjoy a show like this, from 2 to 102 everyone will find something to suit their taste purely because the show has so much in it, a bit of this, a bit of that, a mix of different and original acts. You will be left oohhing and aahhing, wowing and gasping, laughing and cheering. Circus Of The Streets is truly an event like no other, the show of the new millennium, what ever you do, juggle, trapeze or clown your way into getting a ticket.
