Georg Büchner is considered one of the most influential German playwright’s of the 19th century - an extremely talented writer, he died at the age of 23.  This dark comedy is based on a true story and was left unfinished at the time of Büchner’s death.  It is a fascinating and compelling short play and, in the space of the Tobacco Factory Theatre, is certainly one not to miss.  

A simple tale about a simple man in a complex world. A peculiar story infused with the startling power of the human emotion that is jealousy.

Possessed by the might of nature and trapped by the authority of civilisation Woyzeck is about to decided whether it is the human voices he will listen to or something much greater....

Director Dan Danson says this is a complicated and entertaining tragedy, with original music. It manages to capture the breadth of Shakespeare but the precision of Pinter, it's only 1 hour 20 minutes long, but feels so big.
