The Watery Part of the World

(Sound and Fury)

Sound and Fury, the theatre company who perform in the dark, i.e. total darkness - if you put your hand in front of your face, you would not be able to see it!  This will provide another totally different and exciting theatre experience, and one that is receiving high praise from the critics.

Something you go to feel, not see...this really is something you don't see very often, mainly as its performed in the dark!

Loosely based on Moby Dick this is performed in total darkness, depriving the eye but concentrating the ear, this is a real and thrilling theatrical event.

In 1820, a Nantucket whaling ship, The Essex, was hurting Sperm Whales in the Pacific when it was attacked by an 85ft whale which rammed and wrecked it. The crew were forced to take to open boats and sail to the safety of land. At sea for almost 100 days with limited food and water rations, they were forced by thunder to make grim and extreme decisions. Sound and Fury throw you into the heart of that story taking you from the ship's crows-nest to far down beneath the heaving swells of the ocean fully immersing you with their visceral and innovative style.

Using startling hi-tech surround sound, music and actors moving around the theater The Watery Part of the World - written and Adapted from Herman Melville's Moby-Dick and its original sources - fathoms the depths of a chilling true tale with dizzying effect.
