Below follows a short preview of each show, just click on the show's title for much more information!

Dan Danson got the 2003 Spring/Summer Season at the Tobacco Factory off to a flying start at this mornings Press Launch, but not before reminding us of just how much this unique company has achieved. The theatre itself has a five year history but the company now running it is only 9 months old, technically they should just be sitting but in fact they are running, having hit the ground sprinting away. Its hugely successful Winter season brought the likes of Derren Brown, The National Theatre, Show Of Strength, Para Active and more into the theatre, allowing new audiences to enjoy the original, amazing and exceptional space which is The Tobacco Factory.

 Woyzeck, by Georg Büchner
(Tobacco Factory Productions)

7th - 24th May, 2003

Georg Büchner is considered one of the most influential German playwright’s of the 19th century - an extremely talented writer, he died at the age of 23.  This dark comedy is based on a true story and was left unfinished at the time of Büchner’s death.  It is a fascinating and compelling short play and, in the space of the Tobacco Factory Theatre, is certainly one not to miss.

The Onion Bar
(para active)

29th May - 7th June, 2003

para active is a company already established as a great hit with Tobacco Factory audiences.  This time they have a two week residency at the theatre, when they will hold workshops as well as perform their latest revised production, Onion Bar - an original and entrancing theatre involvement.

The Watery Part of the World
 (Sound and Fury)

10th - 21st June, 2003

Sound and Fury, the theatre company who perform in the dark, i.e. total darkness - if you put your hand in front of your face, you would not be able to see it!  This will provide another totally different and exciting theatre experience, and one that is receiving high praise from the critics.

The Pajama Game
(Bristol Academy of Performing Arts)

25th June - 5th July 2003

The classic musical.

South West Scriptwriters New Writing Competiton Winners 2003

14th - 19th July 2003

New talent on the stage.
