After bringing Michael Moore to the city, Blackwell’s is now bringing renowned BBC World Affairs Editor John Simpson to Bristol this weekend to discuss his latest book, The Wars Against Saddam: Taking the Hard Road to Baghdad.

The book, published by Macmillan, offers a unique insight into the conflicts, offering a vivid and informative account of both recent developments in Iraq and how we came to arrive at the current situation. And, for this Sunday only at the Old Vic Theatre, John Simpson will talk about his first-hand experience in Iraq and allow us to get closer to the truth.

When it comes to conflict, John Simpson knows what he’s talking about. He has been a journalist with the BBC for over 30 years and has reported from over 100 countries and 30 war zones. John has also received numerous awards for his work including an international Emmy award for news coverage on the fall of Kabul for BBC 1's 10 O’Clock News together with a CBE in the Gulf War Honours. He is also one of only two people to have been twice named the Royal Television Society's Journalist of the Year (1991 and 2000). 

Blackwell’s presents John Simpson live at the Old Vic Theatre, Bristol on Sunday 7^th December, talking about his first hand experience of the Iraq conflicts.
