CAMERON MACKINTOSH ANNOUNCES TWO NEW ‘ELIZA’S’ FOR THE INTERNATIONAL TOUR OF THE AWARD WINNING DRURY LANE PRODUCTION OF “MY FAIR LADY” PLAYING AT THE BRISTOL HIPPODROME 24 JANUARY – 18 FEBRUARY 2006

AMY NUTTALL and LISA O’HARE will both play the role of ‘Eliza Doolittle’ in Cameron Mackintosh and the National Theatre’s landmark production of Lerner & Loewe’s “MY FAIR LADY at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 24 January – Saturday 18 February 2006.

Due to Amy’s ongoing recording commitments for her forthcoming solo album she will be sharing the vocally demanding role of ‘Eliza’ with Lisa O’Hare.

AMY NUTTALL is probably best known for her role as ‘Chloe Atkinson’ in “Emmerdale”. However, she first worked for Cameron when she understudied and played ‘Christine’ in the national tour of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. LISA O’HARE comes direct to “MY FAIR LADY” from understudying and playing the title role in Cameron and Disney’s West End production of “Mary Poppins”. Her other West End credits include ‘Anything Goes’. Amy and Lisa join CHRISTOPHER CAZENOVE as ‘Professor Higgins’, RUSS ABBOT as ‘Alfred P Doolittle’ (until 4 February), HANNAH GORDON as ‘Mrs Higgins’ and STEPHEN MOORE as ‘Colonel Hugh Pickering’. RUSS ABBOT, HANNAH GORDON and STEPHEN MOORE are returning to the roles they played to critical acclaim at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London.

CHRISTOPHER CAZENOVE made his London theatre debut in “The Lionel Touch” with Rex Harrison. Other West End productions include “The Winslow Boy”, “An Ideal Husband” and “Brief Encounter”. His TV credits include “The Regiment”, “The Duchess of Duke Street” and “Dynasty” and his film credits include “Zulu Dawn”, “Three Men and a Little Lady” and “A Knight’s Tale”. RUSS ABBOT has starred in his own television series’, including “Russ Abbot’s Madhouse” and “The Russ Abbot Show”. His West End stage work includes starring in “Little Me”, “Oliver!”, “Caught in the Net” and “ Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”. HANNAH GORDON has had a long and varied career in television and theatre. Her TV credits include “Monarch of the Glen”, “One Foot in the Grave” and ‘Watercolour Challenge’. On stage she has appeared in “An Ideal Husband”, “Shirley Valentine”, “The Aspern Papers” and ‘Mrs Higgins’ in this production of “MY FAIR LADY” at Drury Lane. STEPHEN MOORE’s theatre credits include many seasons with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He most recently appeared in ‘Festen’ in the West End. His television credits include “Harry Enfield and Chums” and “The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole”.

Hailed by the Daily Mail as “THE REVIVAL AGAINST WHICH ALL OTHERS WILL BE MEASURED”, and the Daily Telegraph as “PROBABLY THE GREATEST MUSICAL OF ALL TIME” this landmark production of Lerner & Loewe’s “MY FAIR LADY” originally opened at the Lyttelton Theatre in March 2001 before transferring to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in July 2001 where it ran for 2½ years.  The production opened to a record-breaking advance in the history of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and went on to win a total of five Laurence Olivier Awards, including ‘Outstanding Musical Production’, ‘Best Theatre Choreographer’, Matthew Bourne. In 2002 it also received The Hilton Award for Outstanding Musical Production.

“MY FAIR LADY” has book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe and is adapted from Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion” and Gabriel Pascal’s motion picture.

“MY FAIR LADY” is directed by Trevor Nunn and has choreography and musical staging by Matthew Bourne, with sets and costumes designed by Anthony Ward and lighting designed by David Hersey.  The musical supervisor is Stephen Brooker and the orchestrations are by William David Brohn, with the dance-music arranged by Chris Walker.  The sound is by Paul Groothuis.

Cameron Mackintosh/National theatre production of Lerner and Loewe’s “MY FAIR LADY” is produced by David Ian for Clear Channel Entertainment, NETworks Presentations  and Cameron Mackintosh.

Tickets will be on sale from September 19 via Ticketmaster on 0870 607 7500 or by calling into the theatre Box Office. You can purchase them online
