Autumn 2003 will see Dave Gorman embark on his biggest UK tour to date bringing his Googlewhack Adventure to the nation.  In this brand new show, Dave will prove once again that, in his world at least, truth really is stranger than fiction.

If someone called you a googlewhack what would you do? You might reasonably ask them what it meant. But I bet you wouldn't end up playing table tennis with a 9 year-old boy in a Boston basement. You probably wouldn't wind up in Los Angeles with three snakes on your head either. I'd say it was highly unlikely that you'd end up in a car with a gun toting dot-com millionaire en-route to Mexico to buy coke (cola) and drugs (prescription). But then you're not Dave Gorman are you? (If you are, relax: that was a different show.)

Dave Gorman said: “I can't wait to start whacking the nation's google. I travelled over 140,000 kilometres on my Googlewhack Adventure, so touring should be child's play by comparison. It's fair to say that, when asked which town has the best audiences, I've always said it was a close call between Bracknell, Sevenoaks, Cheltenham, Reading, Cambridge, Lowestoft, Nottingham, Brighton, Dartford, Swindon, Manchester, Catford, Stoke on Trent, York, St Albans, Barnstaple, Cardiff, Belfast, Derby, Weston Super Mare, Aylesbury, Exeter, Yeovil, Felixstowe, Canterbury, Bournemouth, Coventry, Darlington, Liverpool, Bolton, Leeds, Hayes, Southampton, Bedford, High Wycombe, Edinburgh, Halifax, Aberystwyth, Watford, Folkestone, Harrow, Croydon and Birmingham. By the end of this tour, I should have a definitive answer.”

With two hit BBC TWO television series to his name, Dave is a UK favourite but he's an act with true international appeal. His last stage show Are you Dave Gorman? toured the world, won international awards and played ‘off Broadway’ New York for an extended season of three months that saw him nominiated for a Drama Desk Award and guesting on The Late Show with Dave Letterman and The Daily Show.

This brand new show, which will be featuring at this year’s Edinburgh festival, is already an international hit having sold-out at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (picking up a nomination for a prestigious Barry Humphries Award) and was immediately snapped up for a two week run at The Sydney Opera House.  The show at the Opera House was a complete sell-out, making Dave the biggest selling artist in The Studio Theatre's history.  His Mum is very proud.

“What a show. Wow. Dave Gorman has created something really special with Googlewhack Adventure, a voyage of obsession that makes his last show Are You Dave Gorman? pale by comparison, and raises sincere concerns about whether he pushes himself too far for his craft. Googlewhack Adventure is a rollicking, funny, sometimes disturbing, high-stakes personal journey with the pace of a thriller.”
