This Christmas Bristol Old Vic produces the rarely performed Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Cinderella. Originally written for Julie Andrews, Cinderella follows the long tradition of Rodgers and Hammerstein classics such as Oklahoma, The King and I and The Sound of Music. This fairy tale romance is filled with timeless characters and unforgettable songs.

Timothy Sheader’s productions include the critically acclaimed Sweet Charity at Sheffield Crucible last Christmas and Alan Ayckbourn’s musical Dreams From a Summerhouse (Watermill, Newbury) which opens in June.

Designer Laura Hopkins returns to Bristol Old Vic where she designed Hamlet. Other credits include Cosi fan Tutti (English National Opera), The Golden Ass (International Shakespeare’s Globe), All You Need is Love (West End, UK Tour), Candide and Leonce & Lena, both directed by David Farr (Gate Theatre, London).

Musical Director, orchestrator and arranger Philip Bateman’s credits include Return to the Forbidden Planet, Canterbury Tales and Treasure Island (all National tours) and Our House (West End).
