Nowt2Do.Com > Special Feature > The Relaxation Centre Spa
Clifton, Bristol

The Relaxation Centre is a hidden oasis in the madness of Bristol. Situated in the heart of Clifton, this is a real gem a jewel in the crown of Bristol.

A cold December eve, and after a long week at work the Nowt2Do.Com team make their way to All Saints Road in Clifton, to get a bit of relaxation…and boy did we get it! After checking in, the attentive, friendly and top-notch staff give us a quick guide of the spacious house which makes up the Relaxation Centre. The hot-tub, plunge pool, meditation garden and barrel sauna make up the outside, where inside the well decorating and calming venue you find the dressing rooms, sauna, infa-red sauna, hot tub, steam room, floatation tank, therapy rooms and relaxation lounge. We were then given our towels and dressing gowns and allowed to spend the rest of the day doing whatever we wished.

I opted to book in and pay for an hour in the floatation tank/chamber, what an experience that was! I was expecting something like that episode of the Simpsons, where Homer and Lisa hallucinate in small water-filled coffins, but it was nothing like that at all, it was altogether more relaxing, comfortable, unusual and outstanding. You get into a small room, which doesn’t feel at all claustrophobic, and lie in nicely warmed water….no strike that you float in it, due to it’s high salt content you just delightfully float, then you lie there in darkness and silence for an hour. I’ve never experience anything like this, but I can not recommend it more highly. It’s indescribably good, I’ve never felt as relaxed, happy and content as I did when I came out of the float tank, I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time after it and am already thinking about booking my next session.

The rest of the spa was as good, I delighted in being able to sit in the cold looking up at the clear night’s sky, whilst being perfectly warm in a hot-tub. I loved getting cosy in my dressing gown in the comfortable, bean-bag filled lounge, whilst having a read of the papers, a cup of tea and tea-cake. I left the Relaxation Centre feeling invigorated with life, content, happy, relaxed after having spent a truly delightful day in this tranquil enchantment.

The Relaxation Centre is what makes Bristol a great city, it is a true hidden delight in the heart of city, and is a must for anyone in need of the most relaxing day of their life. There are not enough superlatives for The Relaxation Centre, Bristol should be proud to be home to such a place. Stop reading now…go book yourself in! Then you can thank me!!
