Nowt2Do.Com > Special Feature > Burst Radio Launch

www.burstradio.org.uk

Bristol University Radio Station is launching its first FM licence of the year on Tuesday 25th February at its new frequency 87.7 FM. The license is set to run for one month and will hopefully pave the way for another broadcast in May/June.

The studio has been recently refurbished & now matches any other radio studio in Bristol for technology & equipment.

The station, which already broadcasts over the Internet at www.burstradio.org.uk, can be tuned into across the city for the newest sounds on the airwaves with a wide range of music and personality based shows.

The playlist for the daytime shows is updated weekly with the latest chart releases from a wide range of genres and includes tracks from up and coming local acts giving the station a unique less commercial sound.

Burst has specialist drum and bass, hip hop, electronica, funk, house, indie and reggae shows with presenters that are full of raw talent and enthusiasm. For more details of the schedule check out our award nominated website.

There are also shows from big Bristol names including Locus, Intrigue, Hijack-Metric (drum & bass), Skitzo (hip hop), Clean Cut (electronica), Seen (breakbeat/nu jazz), Propaganda (alternative, indie) Urban cuts (garage) and Police and Thieves (reggae). Specialist shows such as these allow BURST to have the most varied appeal & cutting edge music in Bristol.

The daily news at 6pm covers important local issues and is followed by an informative feature hour with club listings, film reviews and information on local events.

Don’t miss the launch party on Friday 21st February, anson rooms 2 in the university union on Queens Road, Clifton. Newvolution from Brighton are playing some live bass and drum led grooves with layered vocals for an experimental and unique sound with some awesome visuals to set the scene in Bristol’s hottest new venue. Tickets are £3 and drinks are student prices!
