The St David’s Hotel & Spa, Cardiff Bay, this month named one of the World’s Top 20 Hotels for Ambience & Design, is to host one of the only Krug champagne bars in Europe. 

The launch (Thursday, April 14) of Krug at Tides Bar and Grill, The St David’s Hotel & Spa, marks the beginning an illustrious tie-up between the famous champagne house and Sir Rocco Forte’s iconic waterfront hotel and spa.

 The first time Krug has loaned its name to any UK hotel outside London, the decision delivers a massive vote of confidence to the Welsh capital – and to the further success of The St David’s Hotel & Spa, which was opened by Sir Rocco in the late 1990s.

Krug is renowned for its impeccable quality, heritage and unmistakable style and the agreement with The St David’s Hotel & Spa will also see the development of a stunning new Krug menu at its Tides Bar and Grill.

The St David’s Hotel & Spa is the favoured hotel for celebrities, sports stars and foreign dignitaries when they visit Cardiff – it played host to Chelsea FC last month and was also the venue for the world premiere of the new Doctor Who series this spring.

 In accordance with the impeccable quality of Krug Champagne, Tides Bar and Grill, Executive Chef Stephen Carter is offering a new menu that will complement and enhance each individually matched Champagne. The menu will include Krug Grande Cuvée, Krug Rosé, Krug Vintage 1990 and Krug Clos du Mesnil 1992.

 The new Krug Champagne Bar at The St David’s Hotel & Spa will be officially opened on the evening of Thursday, April 14, with a launch attended by a string of top celebrities, Radio 1 DJ Trevor Nelson and friends of the hotel. It will be hosted by Sir Rocco Forte.
