The Comedian.

Nowt2Do.Com caught up with Bristol's best comedian, Russell Howard ahead of his Edinburgh Festival shows. He was down on the farm performing in the Cabaret Tent.

N2D: Being a Bristol Lad, how was it being back in the Somerset area and enjoying the Cider?

RH: I Don't drink, but I enjoyed watching hippies falling in the mud.

N2D:Have you been to Glastonbury before?

RH: Nope. It was great to do it. I did a gig at Glastonbury but not during the festival. it was to about 5 people and a man had a ferret in his jacket.

N2D:What was your favourite part of this years festival?

RH: Watching Snow Patrol with my girlfriend.

N2D:Is Glastonbury just about the music?

RH: No its also about tents. We nearly split up over my inability to raise ours.

N2D: How would you sum up the Glastonbury magic?

RH: You feel a bit like a muggle strolling through the Quidditch World Cup. Only a lot of the wizards are naked and listening to frog poetry.

N2D:What was performing the festival like?

RH: Amazing. Some fantastic heckles as well:

" Stop moving your hurting my eyes"

" Have you got a copy of the Guardian supplement?"

N2D: Where do you get your ideas from?

RH: Just wondering around. Something will pop into my head and then I talk it out on stage. My stuff is vaguely improvised so I run with a lot of bits and bobs.

N2D: What is comedy to you?

RH: An hour where people piss themselves laughing and then can't remember what made them laugh in the morning.

N2D: Was this your first gig in a field?

RH: No I used to rehearse in front of cows. very giving audience.

N2D:What's next for Russell Howard?

RH: I'm doing the Edinburgh festival. 8.50pm at the Pleasance and I'm writing for a new radio 1 comedy show called "The Milk Run." But mainly gigs around the country, meeting wierdos and playing on my Playstation.
