N2D: So, tell us the story, this is your second Glastonbury, your playing two stages. how did you get here?

Joe: Well, first thing was a local battle of the band competition where we won a slot on the Avalon stage.. then it was a national competition run by Glastonbury Festival for a slot on the New Stage, the panel of judges were various agents and other important people on the music scene, and or course the man himself Michael Eavis. we ended up being joint winners out of about 2500 bands.

N2D:Why is playing Glastonbury such a big deal?

Joe:the vibe is just sublime and peaceful and its Glastonbury! you never know until you try it I guess.

N2D:What was the Glastonbury crowd like?

Joe: errr... as above, with a small helping of beer and wandering around added to the equation.

N2D: What is Glastonbury for you?

Joe: err, same as above, and above, plus amazing music, sculpture and crafts, and one huge ongoing party and chillin' and helplessness and wonder.

N2D: Who did you most enjoy seeing?

Joe: Bonnie Rait probably

N2D: What are your Glastonbury memories?

Joe:Mental parties with thousands of people all in various stages of enlightenment, sun, rain, mud.

N2D: What's your favourite food at Glastonbury?

Joe: Cup of tea and some kind of fruit

N2D: What's next for Blackbud?

Joe: Gradual world seduction
