Phil Kay is a talented comedian, I’ve seen his material before and found it very very funny, this time however Phil Kay seems to be the unfunniest man on the fringe, the audience queuing to see his show were funnier.

I hate to say it but I found every single moment of his show unfunny, boring and dare I say it sleep inducing. The basic premise of the show is that Phil will tell you a story of when he branded a heckler, not once does this come up, or is the story told. What you actually get is Phil performing an hour version of his later show where he just talks about anything he likes.

He just rants and raves, talks fast, does the odd bit of what could be classed as material and generally talks about nothing. Now many of the audience did find it very funny, some found it funny and others just didn’t like it.

Phil seems to have so little prepared for this show that it is blindingly obvious that he is just plucking at straws, which unfortunately makes for very unfunny viewing. If he had planned a show and done some writing, then I am sure my tone would change completely, and the full house probably says more about the show than I do, but I would advise you to rather throw your money down the drain rather than seeing the show.

Sorry Phil, you have been funny, you can be funny, but this time, you’re just making a prat of yourself.
