Paul Zennon, star of stage, screen and no doubt security videos has come off the street and onto the road in his new Edinburgh Fringe show after the great success of his hit Channel 4 Specials.

The good news is Paul has successfully managed to transfer his personal style of chat, magic and comedy to the stage to create a good all round show for all to enjoy. Its not by any means ground breaking comedy or amazing magic but its just right for the fringe! The perfect show to see after a couple of stand ups, to have a giggle, be amazed and enjoy yourself.

His tricks are all performed perfectly…just as you’d expect from a pro like this and he has managed to turn classic magic into cult new-age urban tricks. The old Chinese rings are now done with audience’s rings, bowling balls appear from nowhere, there’s a huge version of the three card monty and the brilliantly astounding rope cut is now done with his microphone wire.

Paul Zennon seems to be a master of audience interaction, making the chosen few who appear on stage with him, relaxed, funny and watchable. His wit and tuned verbal patter complements the tricks exceptionally, and even the moments of silence aren’t awkward as the audience sit in awe wondering what he’s going to do next.

You could say its modern day cabaret, Paul certainly shows his roots as a club circuit performer, yet is obviously aware of the new times, and has updated his show accordingly. It’s certainly not cutting edge or as hip as his TV shows, but it is a slick, humorous and astounding presentation of modern day magic. Like David Blane, Paul has managed to reinvent a certain style of magic.

Defiantly worth a watch as a break from the comedy, or for an enjoyable evening out. No rabbits in hats, just Paul getting cheers.
