At
the beginning of 2002, Andre Vincent got cancer in his Kidney, he’s done
jokes about it…these are his jokes.
Now
walking into the Gilded Balloon for Andre’s show they were playing a
song entitled “Everything Gives You Cancer,” now I do hope that
laughter doesn’t give you cancer because if so….Andre’s audience
will now all have it!
This
is a highly ambitious attempt by Andre Vincent, he got cancer, and he’s
talking about it and making jokes about it, yet the audience are in
riotous laughter…it just works.
Andre
has a brilliant attitude towards his cancer that which he leaves you with,
his little message is to be positive, and he really shows that he is. He
was diagnosed with cancer of his Kidney and his show tells you everything
about it, from his families views, to a video of the actual kidney being
removed, and to hearing that he has the results to see if he is fully
cured or not waiting back in London for him to find out after the run.
He
is an experience comedian whose collection of anecdotes, one-lines, a
somewhat warped view on situations created a fresh, original and purely
exciting and brilliant performance.
There
really was nothing wrong with this show. It deserves to sell out, it
deserves to tour to packed houses, and Andre deserves to continue going
from strength to strength. It really is infectious comedy, and for Andre
it was literally side splitting.
See it
now, this is a rare gem of an idea performed perfectly. Go Go Go because
remember, he’s unwell…he may not be around for long! I do hope not
actually, because Andre Vincent Is Unwell is extraordinarily brilliant.
