Nowt2Do.Com Club Preview

Name: Warehouse
Venue:
The Warehouse, Opposite Jurys Hotel.
Dates: All Week

Warehouse is opening in late September 2003 and it will fill a massive gap in the nightclub market in Bristol. Thought, understanding and enthusiasm has gone into this project.

Bristol is a city dependent on its student population. Yet it is often the case that they are treated like 2nd rate citizens. It’s time to readdress this balance and that’s what Warehouse will do.

The Warehouse will be a student only club. Not just in the week but right through the weekend to, plus it will only be used for private hire during the university holidays (for hire details contact either Daren or Ben on the number below). You can expect student friendly door prices and most importantly student friendly drinks prices, even at the weekends. All too often venues use the student pound to increase their takings in the week and then forget about them at the weekend. We won’t.

We’ve seen the state of other student “venues” and we know that students want more for their money than just a tightly packed, dirty sweat box.

Chic, sophisticated and stylish are words rarely associated with student venues but Warehouse changes this. Attention has gone into every one of the 6 levels of this club creating a clubbing atmosphere with industrial décor, plush furniture and non slip floors. On levels 5 and 6 you could be forgiven for assuming that you are in a different city with pictures of different skylines which creates a perfect area to chill out, socialise and sample some world famous cocktails. The downstairs bar is huge with a wide selection of drinks and will be well staffed meaning no ridiculous waiting times. Warehouse is fully air conditioned and the latest sound, light technology and new plasma screens have been installed.

We realize that students have varied musical tastes so we will be offering a variety of different nights to try and keep as many people as we can happy (see Warehouse Timetable). The club will also be available for hire to students for society, team and hall parties on Tuesdays & Sundays.

Student safety is key to the success of Warehouse and we will do everything we can to make it the safest and most enjoyable experience for students in Bristol. Our security staff have been hand picked and are specialists in the student market. There is a taxi waiting area inside the club, where taxis can be ordered and the customer will be informed of the taxis’ arrival by a member of our security staff. Our security staff will also pay special attention to students leaving the club alone due to the increase in attacks on students (both male and female) last year.

We also want feedback from the students, so if any are unhappy with their experience at Warehouse we will be available in the day to answer any questions and deal with any problems that may have occurred.

We will get students involved as much as possible with the running of the club. We will employ student bar staff and student PR Staff, both will receive a strong wage. Another exciting venture is that will be selecting students to take part in our Student Promoter Training course. We started this last year and have already created two successful student nights, one of which has gone weekly Tuesdays at Bar Latino and the other night’s promoter has gone on to promote a new night, Aim, at Po Na Na (starting October). This course allows the student to gain hands-on experience in promoting while making a significant amount of money but at the same time under no risk of loss.

We will be hosting a preview party on Friday September 26th at Warehouse. It will give you the opportunity to come and see exactly how serious we are about this venue.
