Barely a year since their last release (the hit single ‘Vegas Two Times’ in April 2002), Stereophonics can confirm that a brand new single will come out in May, closely followed by the band’s fourth album two weeks later.

 Released on 19th May 2003 on v2 records, Stereophonics first single of the year is entitled ‘Madame Helga’. Played out last summer during the band’s massive headlining slots at the Glastonbury and V2002 festivals, ‘Madame Helga’, simply put, it rocks. Written while travelling around Sri Lanka, Kelly Jones says: “It was inspired by an eccentric house and woman I met there. It's a rock n roll record.”

 ‘Madame Helga’ will be released on CD, DVD and 7”, with the CD backed with two previously unreleased tracks, ‘High As The Ceiling’ and ‘Royal Flush’. The DVD will feature a film of Madame Helga being performed live last summer.

 Stereophonics fourth album follows on June 2nd. Entitled “You Gotta Go There To Come Back”, the album was recorded at Sarm Hook End October/November 2002 and was mixed at Ocean Way in Los Angeles January 2003. The album is produced by Kelly Jones, engineered by Jim Lowe and mixed by Jack Joseph Puig. The word is that this album is Stereophonics best and most varied collection of songs yet, taking in bona fide soul, sleaze-soaked blues-rock, psychedelic pop and more familiar Stereophonics songwriting.

Stereophonics have released three albums so far, selling a combined 4 million copies in the UK alone. ‘Word Gets Around’ (reached number 6 in the UK in 1997), ‘Performance And Cocktails’ (#1 in 1999) and ‘Just Enough Education To Perform’ (#1 in 2001). These albums have produced numerous hit singles including the ubiquitous UK anthems ‘Local Boy In The Photograph’, ‘The Bartender And The Thief’, ‘Have A Nice Day’ and ‘Handbags And Gladrags’. Stereophonics have headlined Glastonbury, Reading, T In The Park, V2002, Slane and Witnness Festivals in the UK and Ireland over the last three years.

 Stereophonics have confirmed their first tour since 2001. The band will be touring throughout the UK in November, with two major shows planned for Christmas. The dates are;
